FAQ: Do my patients have to sign a receipt every time they are charged?

Last updated on 13 Sept, 2025

By law, you are required to store a patient's signature on file for 3 years. We have made this easy on you! We have a few tools to help:

  • EZ Pay Signature-On-File Authorization Form™: Allows you to store a patient's signature on file for all of their one-time transactions without having the patient sign a receipt every time they come into the office!

  • Scriptel Signature Devices: Allows your office to easily grab and store digital signatures on care plans, auto-debit authorizations, and receipts. We have two options available, one with a card swiper and one without.

  • EMV Terminal: Process EMV chip cards for one-time payments and capture digital signatures on the touch screen.
